Tashi performance

A few weeks ago all of the 45s did a drama act.
it had to be from a tashi book.
Me and my class did a performance called ''Tashi and the forbitten room''
It was lots of FUN!!!!

BAND PERFORMANCE!!

Every year in term 4 the band plays a couple of pieces.

I am in the band and I play the flute.

All of the year 3-5s came along to watch us and to see if they would like to play an instrument next year.

Quite a few people wanted to play an instrument next year so I think there is going to be a lot of people in the junior band.

REMEMBERANCE DAY

Every year, on the eleventh of November, we remember the people who fought and died in wars to keep us safe.

We remember them by wearing a flower called red poppy.

World war lasted for 4 years, from 1914-1918.

It was called the Great War because almost every country in the world was at war.

Many people were hurt and killed in the fighting that took place in Europe.

In the spring time, thousands of red poppies grew on the battlefields and by the soldiers' graves.

At 11.00am, on 11 November in 1918 the war stopped.

The world was at peace again.

The soldiers rememered the red flowers on the battlefields and pinned poppies to there coats.

Today, on Rememberance Day, poppies are sold and worn to raise money for people who have been affected by war.

We also stop for a minute of silence to remember everyone who faught in the war for us.

All Saints Day

On the 31st of October it is Halloween.

Halloween means 'hallowed eve'(also known as holy eve).

Halloween is the day before all Saints Day.

This day is held on the first of November.

On all Saints Day we pray for all the Saints that have helped us threw our lives.

MYST ART!!!!!!

For the last term or 2 me and my class have been doing a game called MYST.

It is about finding messages and clues to get on to different levels.

It is also to help improve our writing.

We got so in to it that we started doing ART!!!!

Today I was reading runestone by Anna Ciddor .

This book is very creative, different and exiting all at all times of the book.

The boy in the book(named Oddo)remind's me of my coisin James.

They are both irritating, funny, and pushy.

I havn't read much of the book but from the clues I have found out I have an idea of what is going to happen next.

But I won't skip ahead and tell you , I will wait until I am positive about it!!

I can not wait to finish this book and read the other series.

I think EVERYONE will like it if you are a girl or a boy.

On Sunday 25th of August me and my cheerleading group performed at mary maccilops school fate.

It was awsome.

I only got to do my pom-pom ruten but it was still very fun!!!

After that I got to go on some rides and I won a free bowling pass and a 25 dollar beach bag!

I got a snow cone to!!

It was really fun!

TREASURE FEVER-ANDY GRIFFITHS

Today I was reading treasure fever by Andy Griffiths.

I like this book because it is funny,adventurest and creative.

I've only read up to page 55 but I think it might have something to do pirates and treasure because of the front cover and title.

I have read pencil of doom and can't wait to read mascot maddness.

Andy Griffiths is 1 of my FAVIROTE authors and I recomend ALL of his books for anyone who likes gross, funny,annoying,and just anything books!

MYST DIARY ENTRY!!!!

Another day of adventure and mysterious notes that are down right scary!
Today I entered the old rusty library to visit the book I dread looking at again.
I clicked the burn't blue page and put it in the blue book.
I opened the book so slowly because I wasn't sure what would happen.
Then suddenly I heard a voice and a fuzzy kind of sound that made me jump so high that my touched the roof!!
Then suddenly a man's face appeared in the book saying crazy things like-help me,the blue pages,collect the blue pages.
It gave me the shivers.
I didn't know what to think.
I like this part because it is mysteryous and I like that.

BOOK WEEK!!

On Wendsday it was book week at my school sjv and everyone got to dress up as a charector from a book.The theme for this year was safari,but we call it book safari.So you could also dress up as a animal from the wood or a hunter.I dressed up as fern from charlottes web but I was pretty plain compaired to others. Some people had painted them selves to have exactly the same as the person in the book. My favirote costume was a girls in year 6 and she dressed up as tiger from winnie the pooh.she painted her face orange with wiskers and she wore tiger ears. I find that costume very cool because it is not too fancy and not too plain. Also when she got on stage she jumped once to act like tiger and I think she is really confedent for doing that. after all the classes had gone on parade the teachers made a show for a book. some acted like elephants and some like rihnos.very fun!!

THE PENCIL OF DOOM!

I like this book because it is scary and funny at the same time.
As I was reading this the book i was thinking of how good Andy Griffiths is as writing stores and wondering how I would react to THE PENCIL OF DOOM if I was in that tricky situation.
What the story's is based on is a pencil that has a scull rubber on the end. Jack draws a picture of the 2 bullies in the school that is very violent with the evil pencil.Then strangely it actually happens!! Everyone except for Jack believes that this pencil is magical. So, they tested it out by drawing a picture each of something they would like.Jenny who wanted a kitten drew one. Gretel drew her self beating her dad in arm wrestling because she can beat everyone(including her gym teacher)in arm wrestling except for her dad.Henry drew him-self winning northwest chronicle's shot story competition because he wanted to win! Jack drew him in a pile of a million dollars!!
And you know why,don't you?Anyway,I have only read up to where Jack got his surprise.He w3as at school and there was a robbery!The police man where chasing the robber and the robber threw a bag onto Jack and money blasted out everywhere!Then the police saw Jack with money all over him and and thought that he did the crime!At least Mr.Brain fright was there to stick up for Jack.I tell you that pencil is evil!!!!!!!!

Fortune Cookie

today I was reading fortune Cookie by Jean Ure.

Very funny, fantastic, adventurest and creative read.
I like this book because it is about a dog and I like dogs heaps.
The basics facts of this book is it is about 2 girls, 1 little boy and cookie the dog.
An old woman had a dog and she treated the dog like a piece of dirt.
The 2 girls felt sorry for the dog and visited the dog everyday.
They named him cookie and 1 day they took 1 of the girls younger brother(he is disabled)and he just loved cookie.
1 day the old women caught the kids patting the dog threw the fence and she went balistic!
But strangly she gave the kids cookie!!!!
It was basically Joeys(little boy)and he loved him.
Then they found out that the dog is hurt and it will cost 500 dollars!!
Now the 2 girls are doing anything they can to get enough money.
If they don't they will have to put cookie down.

MYST

In class we are doing a computer game called ''MYST''to help with our writing.



It is really creative because you can get onto different worlds!!


There are 5 world's to visit and we have visited 2 so far.


This help's our writing because when we go into mysteryous rooms we write sentences to discrib -e it.


For example: to me this library is not an ordinary library, it is a haunted library.


We are the Person visiting the island so you have to think like you are the person there.


The 2 worlds I have visited so far are creepy, mysteryous and adventurest.
I can't wait to find out more!!

St John Viannie

Today is St John Viannie's day.I am going to tell you what happened in St John Viannie's life. he was born in France 1786 on the 8th of may and died on the 4th of August 1859. He worked on his fathers farm for 14 years just waiting to be a priest.He tried 3 times to be a priest but could never got5 it right.Finally, on the 3rd time the pope saw that he could do it and he became a priest.He was a priest at the ''ARS''church. He hardley got any sleep because he was alway's listening to peoples confession's. people started to bullie him and hurt him but he never told the police, he just ignored them. He died at the age of 72 and after 63 years he became a saint. He is now also known as the patron saint of preists.

BUZZ

Buzz is a game when you go around the class room and you have to count.
But there is more to it!
Say whoever was the judge, they said any number that has a 3,6 or a 7 in it.
So the you start counting. 1,2,3........ don't say 3!!!!! say buzz because 3 is a magic number!!!
Do you get it?
If you dont i will give you another HARDER one.
Say someone just said 25 and you say............ buzz because 6 is a magic number so so is 26!! Because it has a 6 in it!
Also when you get to 100 you go backwards!! That gets hard!!
Also when you get to 30 0r 60 or 70 it gets difficult.

MATHS

At school we are learning learning about growing patterns and repeating patterns.

we have to draw little grids too to show what we do.

Sometimes we have fun with the patterns.

But most of the time we just do them.

I think it is fun because we get to draqw patterns.

It is not boring at all.

On Sunday - 3 cookies eaten (leaves 21 cookies)
On Monday- 4 cookies eaten (leaves 17 cookies)
On Tuesday- 5 cookies eaten (leaves 12 cookies)
On Wednesday-6 cookies eaten (leaves 6 cookies)
On Thursday-7 cookies.............not enough cookies left.
Paul would realise on Thursday that he didn't have enough cookies left to follow the procedure.

Today I was reading reading''fortune cookie'' by jean ure.

I like this book because the front cover is very creative and gives away some of the book.

I also like this book because it has great discribing words to help you understand who's saying it and why they are saying this.

I think jean ure is a great author.

Cookie(the main carectors best friend's nickname) reminds me of my 2 best friend's Maddie and Maddie because they are all extremly slim.

reading response on ''chicken soup for the girls soul''

For the last couple of weeks mum and I have been reading a book called''chicken soup for the girls soul''. I know what you are thinking''are they recipes for girls or is it just a fancy title?'' Well, it is just a fancy title. It is a very good book because it helps all the girls that read this book to understand life as they get older. This book is interesting because it has real storys that girls have written and published and put in a book. There are chapters that say what these girls have written about(for example ''friends and bffs''is one chapter). There are some sad storys and some good storys and some can even make you cry!!But it all teaches you a lesson. You will find that about a quarter of them is about there mums being right about friends and stuff. This book is for tweens(grade 5-9)and all of it is written by tweens. I recomend this book for girls that want a bright future.

Igot this book from my mum on my tenth birthday.This book is interesting because it has little poems that only take up about one page and others that are about 10-20 pages long!!!!!!!
This book is a very good book because you can never get bored of a story because it is never too long and then you can look forward to a brand new one.There is over 50 stories in this book and over 50 authors too!!!I think this book is good for boys and girls around my age.

JESUS FEEDS THE FIVE THOUSAND!!!!!!

Jesus just came off a boat and landed nearby lake Galilee. As he was walking up a hill 5000 other people followed him because they had heard about his miricales of healing the sick. When Jesus sat down all the other people stopped which made a big ,big bunch of people. It was all silent. Then jesus said"Where are we going to find enough food for all these people?" Then he thought for a moment and sent his disciples to get some food. One of the disciples found a boy with five loaves of bread and two fish but of course that was not enough for all of the people.

Jesus knew exactly what to do. so he took the bread and fish and gave thanks to God. Then he had enough bread and fish for everyone to eat as much as they wanted. When everyone was full, he said to his disciples "Collect all of the leftovers, we musn't waste a bit". So, the disciples did what they were asked to do. They had 12 baskets of food left over. It was another miracle!

cart dancing

i have had lots of fun doing dancing.

i like it soo much because i have it at school. it makes it way more fun because you can do it with all your friends and i mean all of them.

we are doing this with 4/5j wich makes it alot bigger class.

we had a choice of the song kunfu panda and camp rock. but of course there are more year 4s than year 5s so almost all the year 4s chose kunfu panda cause it is more a movie for there age because i remember liking it last year.

any- way it was so disipointing but i guess it is a cool song (well maby).

we have learnt the first half of our dance pretty well and we are getting there with the second part. there is one stage when we get to make up our own dance with a group of people. now of course i am with two complete strangers but we managed to make up a pretty good dance.

fires in victoria

It has been trouble on the news watching all the fires spreading around Victoria.

some people think the bush fires have started by just a really hot day and some people think it is some silly person that could possibly be taking drugs that have lit the fire.

well because there are lots and lots of fires just getting bigger and bigger!!! my teacher(Mrs R) said that there are around about 20 fires going on and they are all in Victoria!!!!

my school (SJV) are gathering together toiletry, toys , caned food , and maybe a donation.

my mum said that this the BIGGEST disaster in Australian history!!!!!
isn't that big!!!
it is so bad that over 150 people died because they got stuck in the fire!!!
i am so happy that volunteers went to Victoria to help the fire fighters out.
